03 · Digital workflow

CBCT section

CBCT segmentation protocol, from DICOM file to STL file, for integration into MODJAW.

RELU: automated segmentation

With RELU, segmentation and alignment are automated, making the process much easier. A video below walks through the segmentation and export steps, including what to fill in before export.

Alternative protocol: DICOM → STL

An alternative method (not as precise as dedicated segmentation software, please consult your lab): DICOM → STL conversion with InVesalius, alignment with intraoral scans in Exocad, then import into MODJAW via the Advanced > Skull section.

Key steps: 1) DICOM to STL conversion (InVesalius, free, or RELU), 2) Alignment with intraoral scans (e.g. Exocad), 3) Import into MODJAW via the ADVANCED > Skull section.
